The Postgraduate College of the University of Ibadan is happy to announce its 2021/2022 Scholarship Award Competition and to welcome interested doctorate candidates based at the University of Ibadan to apply for an award.
The Postgraduate College Scholarship Award is intended to develop and strengthen an academic excellence culture in Nigeria. Scholars interested in establishing new research avenues or enhancing current research are supported through the scholarship program, with the intention that this will greatly contribute to enriching the state of knowledge. The fellowship initiative is mainly aimed for academics of the younger generation who are conducting doctoral-level research at the University of Ibadan in any academic subject. The potential of doctorate theses and its relevance for development will be prioritized in the selection of applicants.
The award includes a remission of tuition and all other Postgraduate College-related costs, as well as a monthly stipend that is subject to periodic evaluation by the Postgraduate College. Each winner, who will be known as a “Postgraduate College Scholar,” will be obliged to provide official service to his or her Department/Institute. On rare situations, the Postgraduate College may seek the recipients’ assistance. The Scholarship will be provided for a period of one academic session, renewable for up to another two academic sessions, subject to a positive and progress report from the supervisor, signed by the Head of Department, at the time of application.
