Young man who shared money to prisoners was a University Drop out

“I was a law student at Ebonyi Varsity, but I had to drop out due to financial constraints, and I had to travel a long distance to avoid ridicule from my peers.”

Following questions about whether the street hawker who was lauded for his charity was indeed a dropout, the young man has stated that if he lied, the police should arrest him for a scam.

Ekuma Jeremiah Iziogo challenged anyone who believes he is lying, saying they may go to Ebonyi State University (EBSU) to verify for themselves, and that he can show them the genuine copies of his documents as proof.

A video of the 26-year-old young guy handing money to people in a prison van went viral a few days ago, catapulting him into national prominence.

His acts of generosity moved many Nigerians, who began donating money to him. Obi Cubana, a rich socialite and businessman, has also pledged to fund his education at any level and to hire him after he completes his studies in one of his organizations.

Ekuma stated that when he presented the money to the convicts in the vehicle, he did not stage it with anyone and had no clue that he was being videotaped.

Before arriving in Lagos, he said he was in Port Harcourt, where he worked several menial jobs to make ends meet. He saved money for JAMB by taking small jobs, and then he was admitted to Enugu State University to study law.

But because he couldn’t afford his school fees, he was forced to quit. However, he couldn’t go back to Port Harcourt because he didn’t know how to deal with his buddies who had started calling him ‘lawyer,’ so he opted to leave for Lagos to hustle.

He went on to say that his life has improved and that he now has adequate money in his account. He stated that he had no intention of returning to school anytime soon after dropping out. And now that he has money, he wants to make the best of it so he doesn’t have to return to the streets.

His tale is heartwarming, and it’s wonderful to see how his small act of compassion has given him so many rewards.
